Join us for our 3rd annual county-wide CERT Disaster Simulation Exercise on Saturday, April 12th. We had an amazing event last year with 30+ CERT graduates from all over the county coming together to practice medical operations, search & rescue, team work and communications. We learned a lot and received great feedback from our participants. This year we’ll again have reviews of light search & rescue techniques and medical operations in the morning and practice disaster scenarios in the afternoon. Each team will be mentored with a firefighter safety officer.
Join the CERT community and practice those life-saving skills from your Basic Training.
Register early and save your spot!
Saturday, April 12th 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
Held at the Romberg Center off Paradise Drive in Tiburon
The simulation is limited to 35 participants who have completed the CERT Basic Training and feel physically comfortable with a more challenging set of disaster scenarios.
To register, e-mail Maggie at email@example.com or call 415 485-3409.
This is one of two events coming up for CERT graduates. Also check out the First Aid Certification class March 15. Registration is limited so act now!
We also need some volunteers to play the role of “victim” for this simulation from 12:30 – 3pm . You do not need to be a CERT graduate to participate. We will provide injury “make-up” to you and then position you in a safe place for the teams to practice both search & rescue and triage techniques. It is fun and you will learn alot, even from the victim perspective. Please join us. If you are interested, e-mail Maggie at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 415 485-3409.

The photo on this blog is from the 2013 simulation. CERTs practice crawling through a box (in the dark) and have to break through a mock sheetrock wall to reach a simulated trapped victim, with Firefighters Craig Sloan and Bill Vieira assisting.
