You are invited to join MMRC for the Operation Medical Base 2014, a 48-hr full scale exercise in May.

This exciting invitation is extended to you and your local Disaster Response organizations, Red Cross and CERT for consideration. Marin Medical Reserve Corp has booked a bus and hotel rooms for a disaster earthquake training event in May. We have a team of 26 Marin Medical Reserve Corp people signed up to go. Want to join us?

48-hour Full Scale Exercise

The Ventura County Public Health Department will be conducting a 48 Hour Mass Casualty Medical Exercise, at Freedom Park in Camarillo starting Thursday, May 1 at 0700 hrs and ending on Saturday, May 3 at 1900 hrs. This exercise will include instruction/training on the deployment of critical disaster response equipment/capabilities.

Download the flyer with exercise details.

We are inviting your organization to consider sending 4 persons apiece as a part of the MMRC contingent to participate in this exercise. This is basically an all expense paid opportunity with the only costs being for the individual participants to purchase their own lunches on the way down, and back, when the bus stops for a break and perhaps for their evening meal on Wednesday.

All participants are asked to familiarize themselves with online FEMA ICS classes, as knowing this material will be of great use to them during the exercises. We also ask participants to have some kind of organizational picture identification card.

Right now we are looking for an indication of interest/willingness to find participants who can go, with names and skill set information due to MMRC by April 11.

The Specifics

There will be a meeting on Wednesday, April 16 at the Novato Community Hospital (in the Community Room near the Cafe) from 6-7pm for all participants. We will go over the details and classes offered on thursday of the exercise.

The bus will be leaving early morning on Wednesday, April 30 from Marin to Ventura, CA , and returning on Saturday, May 3, arriving in Marin around before midnight.

If you have questions or interest in participating, please contact Ann Eichhorn e-mail at  eichhorn1@sbcglobal.net, or call 415-383-6590.
