Mill Valley’s June CERT class graduated 24 new CERTs at Southern Marin’s Fire Station 9.
Congratulations to the CERT graduates who represented members of local Mill Valley businesses, City Council, Emergency Preparedness Commission, and Floating Homes in Sausalito. Over the course of two days of training, Community Emergency Response Team members learned the basics of Incident Command System, fire suppression, search and rescue, basic first aid and triage. A final disaster simulation provided an opportunity to practice all their new skills. These students will now be resources for their families, neighbors and local public safety officials in the event of a local disaster or large scale emergency. Congratulations to the new CERTs!
