Community Emergency Volunteers (CERT) Help Ensure Halloween Safety

Featured image

All manner of spooks, skeletons and more than  a few storm troopers & Princess Leias wandered the streets in Mill Valley on Halloween Night. Joining them for the third year were members of Mill Valley CERT (Community Emergency Response Team), who assisted the Mill Valley Police Department in adding extra eyes & ears on the ground, making sure everyone’s trick or treating was safe. Under the direction of Sgt. Joe Jordan of the MV Police Department,  officers & CERTs walked in the busy Sycamore neighborhoods, answering safety questions, chatting with residents  and enjoying the decorations & neighborhood comradery.

SandraCERT Michael Fischer organized and directed the CERT effort, which not only added to the public safety presence but provided residents an opportunity to interact with members of this emergency volunteer organization.

More information and training dates can be found at www.readymarin.org.
