CERT Communication Workshop

CERT graduates are invited to a workshop to improve your emergency communication skills before, during and after a disaster. As a result of many requests to better understand the flow of information after a disaster, we’ve put together a training to give you added skills and direction.

We will not only work on our practical radio skills but also discuss strategies for the chain of communication from the neighborhood level to your city and on up to the Marin County Emergency Operations Center.

Agenda will include:

  • Marin County Office of Emergency Services and Corte Madera CERT will report on a pilot project using Auxillary Communication System (ACS) to establish communication strategies in neighborhoods following a disaster.
  • Refresh your radio skills  as we practice with hand-held radios.
  • Learn about the new Marin County mass notification system, Everbridge.
