The month of June was a great opportunity for our Fire, Law Enforcement and Emergency Management Teams to be out in the community as they hosted multiple evacuation drills across the county.
Not only do evacuation drills allow for testing of the alert systems but they are also a great way to educate Marin County residents on preparing for a disaster and to talk about what it is like to evacuate.
Everyone was able to learn from first person accounts and walked away with a clearer understanding on the role they can play in disaster preparedness – from signing up to alerts, packing a go-bag to knowing two routes out of their neighborhood.
