On Friday, July 15, over 35 residents gathered at Fairfax’s Peri Park to learn about preparing for wildfire and evacuation. Now that California’s fire season is year-round, today is a great day to get prepared for any emergency.
We had a lineup of expert speakers, which included Fairfax Police Chief Rico Tabaranza, Ross Valley Fire Battalion Chief Gavin Illingworth, and Anne Crealock, Marin Wildfire Prevention Authority (MWPA) Planning and Program Manager. Along with others, they shared best practices with residents about evacuation protocol, wildfire behavior, and Marin County’s action plan for the Greater Ross Valley shaded fuel break.
