Community preparedness training to local Spanish-speaking organizations

On October 10th, the San Rafael Fire Department/Office of Emergency Services (SRFD/OES) attended an evening meeting hosted by Voces de Padres (Parent Voices of Marin) in San Rafael. SRFD/OES was asked to come in and provide targeted in-person disaster preparedness information and resources to a group of parent leaders who advocate for just, fair, and inclusive childcare systems in the community. Their interest in learning more about disaster preparedness and connect parents and the childcare community with preparedness resources was the impetus for reaching out to SRFD/OES.

The engagement with Voces de Padres included a presentation on 1-Hour-to-Get-Ready, answer questions about wildfire and earthquake readiness, and providing a series of informational materials for children and parents.
